For storm shelter installers

Tools to handle the spring rush: a waitlist button, an availability note, rebate paperwork, and credentials landowners look for.

Waitlist and pre-order button

Landowners can join your waitlist from your profile when you're booked up. In this preview the button is front-end only and saves nothing.

After-outbreak availability note

After a big outbreak, post a short note like "Taking orders, installs about 6 weeks out" so callers know what to expect. (Full storm mode comes later.)

"I'll help you register" option

Tick it if you'll help customers register their shelter with local responders.

Shelter credentials on your profile

Maker, NSSA producer member (we note the date we checked), test report on file, and whether you sign a Certificate of Installation. What these mean.

Rebate paperwork checklist (give this to customers)

Based on the requirements in the state programs (AL, MS, OK). Each program's own list wins.

Why availability matters

  • Steel Strong Shelters (Hartselle, AL) was about 8 weeks backlogged in April 2025 (WAFF).
  • A Joplin, MO-area maker said installs that usually take about 30 days stretched to just over 8 weeks in May 2025 (KSNF/KODE).
  • An Amarillo-area installer quoted about 3 to 4 weeks from order to install after a nearby tornado in 2025 (ABC 7 Amarillo).

Don't claim a shelter lowers insurance premiums. If you mention resale value, attribute it: NerdWallet, citing FEMA and FLASH, says about 3.5%.
