Draft, pending attorney review. This is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before launch.
Last updated October 28, 2026.
1. Who we are
Rural Contractor Network (the "site") is run by Rural Contractor Network LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (filing in progress) ("we," "us"). Questions about these terms: email hello@ruralcontractornetwork.com.
By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You must be at least 18 to post a job, list a business, or leave a review.
2. What the site is (and isn't)
- The site is a directory and membership site. It helps landowners find rural contractors and helps rural contractors get found.
- We are not a party to any deal between a landowner and a contractor. Any quote, contract, payment, warranty, or dispute is between you and the other person. We don't do the work, supervise it, or guarantee it.
- We take no cut of jobs and charge no per-lead fees.
- The site is in preview. Directory listings shown now are made-up examples, and some features described on the site are not live yet.
3. Memberships and prices
Memberships are flat monthly prices:
- Free: a basic listing at no cost.
- Pro: $79 a month ($59 a month founding price).
- Premium: $199 a month ($149 a month founding price). Premium includes a website for your business on a domain you own.
Extra counties beyond your plan's limit are $5 a month each. Paid plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract. You can cancel any time; paid features stay on until the end of the month you already paid for. There is no money-back guarantee. Founding prices stay the same as long as you stay a member without a break. Paid sign-up is not open yet; we will show the billing details before anyone is charged. Crew job posts are $29 for 30 days. Ad prices are listed on the Advertise page.
4. Paid tags, Rural Verified, and what they mean
- A paid plan tag (Pro or Premium) only means the business pays for a plan. It never means we checked, verified, or recommend the business.
- Rural Verified means we checked four things at the time of the check: a license (where the state requires one), insurance, business registration, and the equipment the business says it has. It is not a guarantee of quality, price, safety, or results. Licenses and insurance can lapse after we check. Always confirm them yourself before you hire. See Rural Verified.
- We do not run criminal background checks on anyone.
5. Reviews
Reviews come only from real jobs: a landowner who requested a quote or posted a job through the site and was connected with that contractor. Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. We may remove reviews that break these rules. Fake reviews and fake listings are banned. That includes reviewing your own business, paying or trading for reviews, and posting reviews of a competitor.
6. Insurance information
Insurance information on the site is general information only, not insurance or legal advice. Your policy controls. We are not an insurance company, agent, broker, or adjuster. We don't handle claims, talk to insurers for you, or offer deductible discounts or waivers. Ask your agent about your own policy.
7. Ads
Dealer and supplier ads are always labeled "Ad". An ad is not a recommendation, and advertisers are not checked or verified by us. We don't accept ads from insurance companies, agents, brokers, lenders, or lead sellers.
8. Acceptable use
When you use the site, you agree not to:
- post false, misleading, or fake listings, jobs, reviews, or information, or pretend to be someone else;
- claim a business you don't own or aren't allowed to represent;
- copy, scrape, or resell landowner requests, contact details, or listings;
- send spam, or use contact details from the site for marketing the person didn't agree to;
- post anything illegal, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory, or job posts that break our job post rules;
- offer work you aren't licensed or insured for where the law requires it;
- upload viruses or try to break into, overload, or get around the security of the site.
9. What you post, and our license to use it
You keep ownership of what you post (for example your listing details, photos, job posts, and reviews). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, format, and share that content to run, show, and promote the site, for as long as it's on the site and for a reasonable time after you remove it (for example in backups). You promise you have the right to post it and that it is true. We may edit formatting, and we may refuse or remove content that breaks these terms.
10. Suspending or ending accounts
You can stop using the site or close your listing any time by emailing hello@ruralcontractornetwork.com. We may hide, suspend, or remove a listing, post, review, or account that breaks these terms, harms other users, or puts the site at legal risk. If we remove a paid member for breaking these terms, we won't refund the current month.
11. Disclaimers
The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, including that listings, prices, cost ranges, availability ("taking jobs"), or other information are accurate, complete, or current, or that the site will always work. Cost ranges and guides are general estimates from public sources, not quotes. We don't vouch for any contractor, landowner, or advertiser.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Rural Contractor Network LLC and its owners and workers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or business, arising from your use of the site or from any dealings between users. This includes any work done or not done, payments, injuries, or property damage involving a contractor or landowner you found through the site. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Pennsylvania law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please email hello@ruralcontractornetwork.com so we can try to sort it out.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for big changes we'll post a notice on the site (and, once member email is live, email paid members) before the change takes effect. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
15. Other policies
Our privacy note explains what we save when you send a form. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
